Christmas in the GREAT NORTHWEST

Today is 18 December 2008 and we have had a snow storm come upon us. It is 27 degrees outside now. It has been snowing since early this morning. So far we still have power and I shopped last night to stock on some munchies while I sit by the fireplace and read a good book. I also picked up two new books to keep me busy reading during the snowy days ahead. We have about 5 1/2'' of snow now since I first started uploading these pictures. My cats looked out the patio door, looked at the snow and ran away. Guess they don't like the white stuff.
Merry Christmas from the Great Northwest.

Caroline and Justin are at their work place in Redmond with Isaiah and Joseph. They packed a DVD player , toys and other necessities for their day with their parents. Caroline said only 20% of their people are at work today.
No word from Clinton yet. But he does have a jeep if he needs to get out. Although they say that the chains aren't even working on the roads because they are snow packed and ice underneath.
It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas, Everywhere you go,, hmmmm hmmmm hmmm

THANKSGIVING AT PACIFIC BEACH RESORT WASHINGTON 2008

We drove down to Pacific Beach Resort the day before Thanksgiving. We met the Woodhouse family down there the same day. We had a beautiful sunset that evening and I was fortunate tget pictures of it. I cooked the turkey, gravy, dressing, Caroline made the salad, pecan pie, and a wonderful raspberry congealed salad with the bottom layer being pretezels. Gloria did the mashed potatoes and green beans and brought lots of pumkin pie. We all pitched in and brought rolls for the dinner. It was the best dinner and we ate on it the rest of the time we were at the beach. Yumm. The pecan pie didn't last long nor did the pumpkin pie. We didn't have much left overs to bring home with us.

The new thing that we learned this time. We learned how to make hats on the circle looms called the knifty knitter. Caroline had the kit and we figured it out with the help of Yon and enjoyed making hats, hats, hats, the whole time we were there. We even taught the other kids there how to do it. Joseph did a lot of work on his green hat. Isaiah did some on his blue hat. It is so much fun to do and we are now addicted to making all kinds of things on the loom.

Our favorite game this time was Uno and Uno Rummy Up. We had a blast playing those games.
We watched some movies on the TV. We also checked out Garfield goes to England for the kids. The resort shows free movies each night. We got to see Walley and Hulk while there. The kids liked those a lot.

We also made it the last day to the rain forest to walk the Maple leaf Trail. It was really nice and some fog were in the area floating around. It was really cool walking in there . It looked very much like the woods where they filmed ''Twilight'' when Edward and Bella were in the woods.

Well, here are the photos of our Thanksgiving and hope you will enjoy looking at them.
Christmas is on its' way and only 24 days until Christmas.

HERE IS A COLLAGE OF ALL THE PICTURES FROM THANKSGIVING. JUST CLICK ON ONE AND THEY WILL ALL OPEN UP.

My Oldest Grandson Joseph turns 8 yrs old in November 2008

Joseph my oldest grandson turned eight years old last weekend. He has also become a Cub Scout . He started his first cub meeting today at the church with all his friends. He sure was excited about becoming a cubscout and getting baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latterday Saints next month. He is reading and enjoying school. Isaiah wanted to know why he couldnt be a cub scout too. He was told, you have to wait until you are 8 yrs old too.

Here are some pictures of Joseph's little birthday party at his home with his mom and Justin.

I love the one where he looks like he is so hogging the cake all to himself.

FALL LEAVES 2008 IN THE GREAT NORTHWEST

The leaves in the Great Northwest have been the most beautiful that I have ever seen since living here the past 14 years. Everyone has commented on how bright and vibrant they were this year. There were all shades of gold, brown , orange and rust colors. One tree we have here looks like it is on fire as it is so bright and red. Below are some shots that I took this week so you too could see our beauty up here. I picked up Joseph and Isaiah the other day after school and while driving to our house, Joseph yelled out that took his breath away,,, "look at the rainbow up in the sky''. We get beautiful rainbows here too. Joseph has been pointed out these rainbows all his life while at our house. Isaiah chimed in and started ooohing and ahhhing about it too. They both kept talking about the leprechauns and the pot of gold. They both kept asking me to drive to the other end so they could see what was there. I told them that they were magic, therefore, no one could ever touch or grab a rainbow. They are just for looking and admiring. When we got to the house, the rainbow went right over our house. It was a full rainbow, bright and colorful.
Have a look at our beautiful FALL in the Great Northwest. Also, you will see the rainbow and also some more Halloween pictures of Joseph and Isaiah at our house looking at the candy they got trick or treating.

OCTOBER 2008 Halloween Parties, cookie making, Pumpkin Carving

The month of October has come and gone! November is here and Christmas just around the corner. Clinton celebrated his 26th Birthday on 12 October. Joseph and Isaiah carved pumpkins at their school one night. We took them to our church Halloween Party. One of the pictures show the boys trying to get a bite into little doughnuts from a hanging string at one of the booths at the party. That was a very fun activity at the party!

We made lots of Halloween cookies during the month and thought about costumes and what to wear on Halloween Night. Joseph ended up being a ''gangster " and Isaiah was ''Dracula" with fake blood dripping out of the corners of his mouth .We made lots of fun Halloween Cards to send to friends and family. You'll see Caroline at her work place and she is ''Medusa" .
Here is a little look into our family in the month of October 2008.
