You Can Find my Purse Organizers on EBAY

Some wrote me that they couldn't pull up my sites from Etsy or Ebay off my blog. If you are interested in seeing them , you can go to EBAY online and then type in the item numbers below one at a time and it will bring up what I am selling. Enjoy. They are selling like hotcakes on Ebay. Plus, I enjoy making them. They are great for Teenager and Adults purses. The ones below have a Halloween theme to them and one is Elephants.

Do you have a Farm on Facebook, it is '''Farmville"... if you would like to be my neighbor you can send a request. I really enjoy planting and harvesting the farm. Lots of fun. Mine is on FARMVILLE, not Farmtown.

Handy Handbag Insert Pocket Organizers on my Ebay site Cougarnanna

Hello Friends and Family~
I just wanted to put a plug in about my Etsy Shop and my EBAY Shop. It's called Cougarnanna. Click [Here]. I've been making some really fantastic purse organizers and selling them on Ebay and Etsy Stores of mine. They are super cute and very helpful. They come in all sizes and patterns.
Recently, Caroline bought a purse that had absolutely no storage. It was a catch all for all her treasure junk. She got one and she loves it. It really helped her organize all her belongings in her purse. The great thing about these inserts is that they are removable and can be used for any purse of your choice, depending on size.
Check out the picture for an example of what is on both sites. I don't know how I lived without one of these before now! Here is one up for sale in my Ebay Store, take a peek. You won't want to live without one either!!
I am putting up new designs every week. So keep a look out !

I had a friend visit us for three weeks last month. Caroline Hobbs Sanders a childhood friend from Bremen, Georgia where my sisters and myself grew up. It was fun having her out and to talk about us as children when we were growing up.
Here are some pictures taken while we were walking through the beautiful Bellevue Botanical Garden last week. We spent a week in a little cabin outside of LaConner, Washington. It was beautiful and peaceful that whole week. We were right on Pudget Sound water. We got to drive over to Deception Pass and view the beauty of that place . We were really in the boonies that week and I loved every minute of it! The last week we kept going to the local farmers markets and buying up fresh corn , potatoes and tomatoes. We ate our share of all those yummy veggies.

My sister Myra and Her Art Work!

My sister Myra has a wonderful talent in Art. When she attended the University of Georgia after high school graduation, she took art classes. I remember her having to go to the Zoo and other places and fill her blank art books up with drawings.

I have a few pieces of her art hanging in my home. I am very proud of my sister Myra and the beautiful paintings that she has painted through the years.
In her early years of painting, she painted in the basement of our MontClair Apartments in Decatur, Georgia. We had little storage units down there and she turned one of them into her little studio. She painted a very huge painting down there one summer and she showed it at the Piedmont Park Art Festival that summer. It was pretty exciting having my sister show some of her work. I still wonder how she got that huge painting on display in the park that summer.

The first picture is an oil painting that hung in our parents apartment in Decatur, Georgia. She painted it when I was in my teenage years. She painted three of these for family and friends. It is the painting of the Nun sitting on a piece of drift wood on the beach. I remember that there was a little story about this painting. After Myra had finished it our mother asked her to do something different to the seagulls. I think it had to do with painting the tips of their wings differently or something like that. The second picture is a recent water color that she did for me and gave it to me as a gift. I love her water colors.
Myra also has a love of painting and drawing Japanese Geisha girls. I have a favorite little oil painting that she did for me years and years ago of a Geisha Girl. It is my all time favorite. I will do a posting on that particular painting later on.

Hope you enjoy viewing these as much as I do!

Spring Has Sprung in Bellevue, Washington

I wanted to show you my most favorite place in Bellevue where I live. Bellevue Botanical Garden is about a 10 minute drive from our house. Yon and I have been coming here for walks for 15 years. We come here year round. At Christmas time they decorate the whole garden with flowers that are made with special lights. It is so awesome in December.

We went for our first Spring Walk a couple of days ago. Here is what we saw on our walk. Everything is so pretty, blooming, and fragrance from the blossoms was ever present and wonderful. It was a beautiful and sunny day.

I added one other picture of a poinsetta Christmas Plant that we received from Aunt Eloise in South Carolina in December. Here it is May and it is still alive and showing its' red leaves. Never had one to stay alive this long.

John Hopkins Update: Cancer

Being a cancer survivor myself, I found this information was very helpful and informative to treating cancer and staying cancer free.

Johns Hopkins Update.. Cancer Information

John Hopkins Update AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY ELIMINATE CANCER, JOHNS HOPKINS IS FINALLY STARTING TO TELL YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY. 1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size. 2. Cancer cells may occur between 6 to 10 times in a person's lifetime. 3 When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors. 4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors. 5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system. 6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastrointestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc. 7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs. 8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction. 9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications. 10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites. 11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

*CANCER CELLS FEED ON: a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Mauna honey or molasses, but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in color. Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt. b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and using milk substitutes, cancer cells are being starved. c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer. d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells, try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C). e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer fighting properties. Water: best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, so avoid it. 12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines becomes putrefied and leads to more toxic buildup. 13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells. 14. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Flor-ssence, Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the bodies own killer cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells. 15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, unforgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.
16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells. 1. No plastic containers in microwave. 2. No water bottles in freezer. 3. No plastic wrap in microwave. Johns Hopkins has recently sent this out in its newsletters. This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center as well. Dioxin chemicals cause cancer, especially breast cancer. Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies. Don't freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic. Recently, Dr. Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Cast le Hospital, was on a TV program to explain this health hazard. He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us. He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers. This especially applies to foods that contain fat. He said that the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body. Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food you get the same results, only without the dioxin. So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else. Paper isn't bad but you don't know what is in the paper. It's just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc. He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants moved away from the foam containers to paper. The dioxin problem is one of the reasons. Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food. Cover food with a paper towel instead.
This is an article that should be sent to anyone important in your life.

Let's Play Music with Isaiah

Since our oldest grandson Joseph is in Cub Scouts once a week, Isaiah felt a little left out. So I found quiet by accident a wonderful music class for him. Isaiah just loves music. A friend from church and also lives in our housing community teaches a class for children called " Let's Play Music". It is a wonderful program for teaching children the basics for learning to play piano or keyboard. The fun thing is that they don't even realize that they are learning these basics. They are taught with puppets, games, and music. It is so much fun. Parent or grandparent gets to go every other time with the child. That so where we learn the songs and what they are learning. I took some pictures today of the class and also three videos that can be seen here. If you would like to visit the web site for this wonderful program , here is the website. http://www.letsplaymusicsite.com/

From the pictures you can tell that Isaiah and the other children are having a great time. Today has been a overcast and rainy day. Tony the father of Nicole in pink came to the class today.

Isaiah with Erin playing the Autoharp
Isaiah is getting instruction about Do, Re, Me, Fa, So etc on a game they play.

Isaiah is using a chart to follow along while a song is playing
Here is the rest of the class playing a game with the red balloons learning the spaces and lines on the chart in the background. Everything they learn has a song to go with it.
They are still playing on the autoharp. They take turns
A video where they are singing a Halloween Spooky Song and the second video is more of the class participating.

Just a little family update and hope everyone is doing well.

Making My Valentine Candy

Tuesday Evening.

I thought I would show you some Valentine Candy that I made tonight . I like taking small paper candy cups and mixing up some of my favorite things into candy melts. As you can see, tonight I made pink and red candies.

I melt the Wilton's Candy Melts in the microwave. This is tricky though as you can burn the candy easily. You have to melt in a glass container 50 seconds at a time until they are all melted. I usually add about a teaspoon of crisco solid shortening to make it a little thinner. You can do it before or after you microwave. I like to take nuts and fruits that I have on hand and mix into these lovely colorful candies. The fruits are always dried fruits. I add chopped nuts of any kind, rasins, pineapple, blueberries, cherries, cranrasins, etc anything that is dried. You also add about a 1/8 to 1/4 cup of rice krispies 'plain' into the candy that gives them a little crispy taste. It really makes them taste wonderful. I also sprinkle valentine sprinkles over the top before the candies dry.

It snowed the other morning about 1 inch. It melted off pretty much. Then tonight it snowed and rained at the same time as I was coming home from shopping. No one can predict our weather most of the time.

I started Isaiah our youngest grandson (6) in a wonderful music class yesterday here in our neighborhood. The girl goes to our church and holds two degrees in music. Isaiah is the only boy so far in the class and he gets lots of attention. There are two other little girls. The teacher told Isaiah that they had to work to stretch his voice and have him singing those high notes. Of course he had no idea what she was talking about. Isaiah seems to have a low voice naturally. But she told him that right now he could hit all the high notes that the girls can hit until his voice changes. He loved the class. They sing, dance, play games, have puppet shows, clap to the beat, etc. They will work toward playing the keyboard. Here is the website to have a look at the program.

January 2009 a Delightful Dusting of Snow Today

Sunday Morning:

Just a dusting of snow appeared outside this morning. It is Sunday and as I look outside the window, I see a very faint snowing outside my window. I love the snow. Especially this graceful, clean, delicate snowfall. It isn't sticking much but as I peer out into the sky, it looks like tiny wee little snowflakes coming down from the sky.

The silver glass globe on a wrought iron pedestal is one that our Aunt Eloise Riel from Sumter, South Carolina sent to us years ago. It continues to highlight our back garden. We have several more around the yard but they blew off during a wind storm and I had to put them up until summer. They didn't break either!

When it snows, I always think of SNOWGLOBES. When I look out the window and see the softly falling snowflakes, I feel like I am inside the snowglobe looking out. The snow is still trickling down from the sky as it has been doing for the past hour or more.

Here is what is happening in the weather in our neck of the woods.

Happy New Year 2009.
